Two year olds enter into potty training in their own classroom at Almost Home with one teacher to every five children. Our staff in this classroom are "Moms" themselves and are chosen for their genuine love of children, their realistic expectations, infinite patience, and sense of humor! They are also certified in First Aid, CPR, Childhood Illnesses, and Child Abuse Recognition.
The two year old class is the beginning of real independence and learning for your child! Potty-training begins in this class; as well as a daily routine packed with circle time, creative art and crafts, music, introduction to letters and numbers, focused large motor play, and playground time! Our goals for toddlers include self-help skills as well as cognitive skills: counting, sorting, singing the alphabet and familiar songs, controlling crayons and markers and pencils, handling safety scissors, recognizing colors and simple shapes, catching, throwing, hopping, and MORE!
Two year olds at Almost Home begin a structured day, with organized daily schedules, lesson planning, and academic goals! Language skills are really blossoming at this age, so this is a fun time for us to learn our manners and how to talk to our friends, parents, and teachers politely. Children are so excited to learn at this age and everything at Almost Home is super fun for TWOS!
