Almost Home is proud to offer a newborn program for babies 0-12 months where there is one caregiver to 3 infants. Our three special caregivers in this program are all "Moms" themselves, and our Lead Caregiver is a Licensed Practical Nurse. All caregivers are certified in Infant & Child CPR, First Aid, Common Childhood Illnesses, and Child Abuse Recognition. They are additionally chosen for their patient and nurturing demeanor and their genuine love for children.
Our focus in the newborn room is on love and care. Holding, cuddling, rocking, and talking to infants are the main focus of our day. Attention is given to the attainment of developmental milestones. Tummy time, mirrors, and a wide variety of toys, baby gyms, bouncers, saucers, and play equipment stimulate motor, sensory, and cognitive development. We are firm believers that the best cognitive development happens through baby/adult eye contact, interaction, and talking. This interaction and our peaceful,
baby-centered environment, is what makes Almost Home newborn care so wonderful.

One year olds have their own classroom at Almost Home; designed especially for curious new walkers with one caregiver to every five children. Our staff in this classroom are "Moms" themselves and are chosen for their genuine love of children, their realistic expectations, infinite patience, and sense of humor! They are all certified in Infant & Child CPR, First Aid, Common Childhood Illnesses, and Child Abuse Recognition.
The one year old class is the beginning of an activity schedule for your child! Music, stories, toy times, introduction to art materials, and sensory activities add fun to our day!
We take children on wagon rides and to our indoor Muscle Room for motor development
on the big, soft equipment.
Even though our one year olds look like toddlers, they are still a lot like babies, so the daily schedule is
flexible and relaxed and balanced with lots of
hugs and cuddle time.
